While that certainly casts a questionable light on his intentions, he seems to have learned from his mistakes on the most part when introducing Monavie. So far all lawsuits and complaints about the product have been directed against marketing from distributors or teams of distributors, not the direct marketing materials by Monavie Corporation.

The product of Monavie itself is a very beneficial product, and to this date no one other than Monavie has worked so hard to protect the integrity of the Acai Berry's unique benefits when transporting it outside of Brazil.   

Is the Business of Monavie a Scam?

This question is best left to your personal interpretation.

If you feel that all MLM businesses are scams, designed to make the salesfource into the end-users, then yes, in a small way the overall business model, A.K.A. distributorships of Monavie is a Scam.

However, if you feel that MLMs are sound business model that allows the common man or woman to make a great living from their home, then Monavie is one of the best MLMs to date to join.

The truth is that MLMs are a flawed business model to the core but there are thousands of people today living the life of luxury in them because those individual people had some sort of 'edge.' Each of the really successful MLM distributors in America got where they are because they were either very lucky to recruit great salesmen under them, or were themselves a great salesmen.

In fact, the majority of them bring their own personal down lines over from one MLM to the next, recruiting hundreds in their downlines instantly as soon as they join.

Does this mean that a new MLM distributor doesn't have a chance? No, they can still get lucky or become a great salesman.

As far as Monavie versus other MLM companies goes, Monavie does appear to have a generous compensation plan once you have recruited a half-dozen or so in your downline, and as long as you are personally buying 1 case a month, every month without fail.

This is not uncommon in MLMs, so officially, Monavie the business is not a scam, just an aggressive MLM, as good or better than it's competitors.
